The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia has an immediate opening for a Fabrication Foreman to oversee operations and projects for the Fabrication Department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees and foster culture.
  • Ensure accurate equipment tracking.
  • Work with the team to identify and implement solutions for fabrication equipment repair and modifications.
  • The work area includes automation, including robot welders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking someone with a background of hands - on supervision ideally in heavy manufacturing. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, has excellent people skills, is strong in math, has mechanical abilities and the energy to excel. 

Qualifications

  • Safety: Foremen are responsible for driving all components of “Take Control of Safety" to their teams (High Risk Exposures, PSIF Initiatives, PSIF/SIF Management, etc.)
    • Toolbox Talks (Safety Alerts and other safety discussions)
    • Exposure Assessments and Red Tap Challenges.
    • Enforcing and coaching of Cardinal Life-saving Rules.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven leadership and supervision skills.
  • Strong self-starting abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects to ensure timeliness.
  • Computer skills
